Eminem scores the most nods when 2010 American Music Awards nominations were announced on Tuesday, October 12. Along with Lady Antebellum, the rapper receives a total of five nods. The Slim Shady is up for Favorite Album in pop/rock and rap/hip-hop music fields, and Antebellum are up for Favorite Album in country music.
Justin Bieber follows the two acts' domination with four nominations. The 16-year-old Canadian pop singer is listed as one of the contenders for Favorite Male Artist in pop/rock along with his mentor Usher and Eminem. Additionally, he also gets a bid to win T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist alongside the likes of B.o.B, Ke$ha, Travis McCoy and Mike Posner.
The other artists who receive multiple nods include Ke$ha, Usher, B.o.B and Katy Perry with three each. Perry is up for the top honor, Artist of the Year, competing against Eminem, Bieber, Ke$ha and Lady GaGa who gets double nominations this year. The "I Kissed a Girl" hitmaker once again faces off GaGa and Ke$ha in Favorite Female Artist for pop/rock.
In favorite album for soundtrack, the theme songs compilation for "Iron Man 2" by AC/DC appears on the list with "Glee: The Music - Volume 3 Showstoppers" which is filled by song remixes and "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse" which is led by Muse's "Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)"
