Leave it to Taylor Swift—always the overachiever—to work on her 21st birthday. She spent much of the day in her Tennessee recording studio, and while we’d never complain about new music from everyone’ fave country crooner (who else still has Speak Now on repeat?), hopefully Tay made time to let a little loose on her birthday.

Getting lots of birthday love from her celeb friends, Taylor received celebratory tweets from stars like Selena Gomez and Katy Perry.

The “Wizards of Waverly Place” gal wrote, “Happy birthday @taylorswift12!!! I love you so much.”

Meanwhile the “Fireworks” rocker tweeted, “@taylorswift13 happy 21st gorgeous!”
